I just read the most heartwarming "coming out story" on Twitter. This being pride month and all, there are plenty of them online. It had me in my feels for a hot minute. Then it got me thinking...
As a straight person I've never had to deal with it so I know I don't fully understand the journey so I should probably not be speaking on it (feel free to tell me to STFU), having said that, I dream of a future where people don't have to come "out of the closet". Where your sexual orientation isn't something to hide in the first place. Where you don't have to worry about whether your family will look at you differently after they find out who you love - I mean, I'm happy for those whose parents/families were supportive after they came out, but the fact that that was even a question...
I dream of a future where your sexual orientation is literally as important as your zodiac sign.
